Painting

Painting is where it all begins for Halle. Working primarily in acrylics and mixed media on canvas, she approaches each piece with full commitment — no underpainting, no careful pencil sketch first. The brush goes straight to the surface.

The paintings range from abstract color work to landscape-inspired pieces rooted in the Arizona terrain. Canyon walls, desert light, monsoon clouds — the land is always in there somewhere. Bold, direct, and alive.

Embroidery

Embroidery is the slow work. Every stitch is placed by hand, one at a time, building texture and image from thread alone. Halle's embroidery work ranges from botanical illustrations to abstract texture pieces — all stitched on linen, cotton, or repurposed fabric.

The patience embroidery demands is part of why she loves it. It's a different kind of focus than painting — quieter, more meditative. The finished pieces have a density and texture you can't get any other way.

Clay

Working with clay is working with the earth directly. Halle hand-forms all her clay pieces — no wheel, no molds. The fingerprints stay in. The irregularities stay in. That's the point. No two pieces are alike because no two moments of making are alike.

The clay work spans functional pieces and purely decorative objects with organic, sculptural forms. Each one carries the quiet weight of something made entirely by hand.

Sculpture

Sculpture is the most three-dimensional thinking Halle does. These pieces exist in the round — they ask you to move around them, to see how the light changes on them from different angles. They're not meant to sit flat against a wall.

The forms are organic, pulled from geological shapes, plant structures, and living things found in the Arizona landscape. Some are abstract. Some have clear references. All of them have a presence that flat work can't have.

Fiber & Sewing

Fiber work is where structure meets softness. Halle sews and assembles textile pieces entirely by hand — wall hangings, wearable art, and home textiles that blur the line between functional object and artwork.

Color, pattern, and texture are the vocabulary here. The work pulls from the same natural palette as everything else. Each piece is cut, sewn, and finished without shortcuts.
